This acquisition represents a major milestone for the development of Saur’s Industrial Water activities, furthering the Group’s strategic ambition to be a provider of innovative, mission critical and sustainable water and wastewater treatment solutions helping industrial customers to master the hydric transition. It also increases the share of recurring and asset-based business within Saur’s Industrial Water segment.

Veolia’s European Mobile Water Services (MWS Europe) will become the global Mobile Water Services platform of Nijhuis Saur Industries (NSI). With the addition of Mobile Water Services, NSI obtains a single-source provider of full-service offering of mobile water solutions, including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and deionization with leading market positions and large installed base in growth end-markets in Europe.

Access to the advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions

MWS Europe comprises an owned asset base of close to 400 mobile water units, employs 70 people across the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Spain, Poland and Sweden, and works with a diversified client base of more than 600 customers. Within Saur Group, MWS Europe’s customers will have access to Saur’s and NSI’s advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions.

The transaction is expected to close before year-end 2022, subject to antitrust approvals and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions such as consultation with Veolia’s employee representatives. As part of the transaction, Saur will undertake all social commitments announced by Veolia.

Exportwachstum bei Verfahrenstechnik und Lufttechnik

Die deutschen Exporte von Verfahrenstechnik und Allgemeiner Lufttechnik sind im ersten Halbjahr 2026 gestiegen. Der VDMA verzeichnet jedoch deutliche Unterschiede zwischen einzelnen Ländern und Regionen. Während die Verfahrenstechnik insbesondere in China zulegte, kamen bei der Allgemeinen Lufttechnik Wachstumsimpulse vor allem aus europäischen Märkten.

Katalysator für die elektrochemische CO₂-Verwertung

Forschende des Helmholtz-Zentrums Berlin (HZB) und internationale Partner haben untersucht, wie sich die elektrochemische Umwandlung von CO₂ zu Kohlenmonoxid effizienter gestalten lässt. Im GreenQUEST-Projekt optimierten sie dafür Katalysatorschichten aus Silbernanopartikeln und veränderten zusätzlich die Reaktion an der Anode.

Wasseraufbereitungsspezialist erweitert Vorstand

Die Grünbeck AG erweitert zum 1. Januar 2027 ihren Vorstand von einem auf drei Mitglieder. Mit Sandra Stricker und Harald Wiedenmann rücken zwei langjährige Führungskräfte aus dem Unternehmen in das Gremium auf. Dr. Günter Stoll übernimmt den Vorstandsvorsitz.

Arzneimittelrückstände mit Ozon entfernen

Im Forschungsprojekt OZON-EFF entwickelt Prof. Dr. Verena Fath einen Rieselfilmreaktor zur Ozonbehandlung kommunaler Abwässer. Durch einen verbesserten Kontakt zwischen Ozon und Wasser soll die Entfernung von Arzneimittelrückständen und anderen organischen Spurenstoffen mit geringerem Energie- und Ressourcenverbrauch möglich werden.

Powtech Technopharm 2026 zieht Bilanz

Rund 6.000 Fachbesucher und 397 Aussteller aus 29 Ländern kamen zur Powtech Technopharm 2026 nach Nürnberg. Die internationale Fachmesse für Verfahrenstechnik widmete sich unter anderem den Themen Energieeffizienz, Recycling, Digitalisierung und Prozesssicherheit. Die nächste Ausgabe ist für September 2028 geplant.
